The Toyota RAV4 drives into the 2019 model year with a complete redesign and already it's making a splash at our Portsmouth dealership! Since the 2019 Toyota RAV4 is in such a competitive segment, we want to show how it compares to popular rivals. Go through to the RAV4 comparison page for full details, but in this blog we'll mention a few highlights.

  • The Toyota RAV4 vs the Subaru Forester: there's a lot to do around Dover NH, and if you want to get places in the most fuel-efficient way possible, get the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid variant. Luckily for us, the Subaru Forester doesn't have a hybrid option.
  • The Toyota RAV4 vs the Jeep Cherokee: the Jeep Cherokee may look like a large model, but its cargo specs pale in comparison to the RAV4. The RAV4 has 37.6 cubic feet with all seats up and almost 70 cubic feet with the second-row folded flat. The Cherokee has 24.6/54.9 cubic feet, respectively.
  • The Toyota RAV4 vs the Ford Escape: the standard RAV4 engine has 203 horsepower, and that beats the two smaller Escape engines that offer 168- and 179-horspower. The top Ford Escape 245-horsepower engine is the biggest, but it does cost quite a bit to get.
  • The Toyota RAV4 vs the Honda CR-V: shoppers for the RAV4 will love how the Toyota Safety™ package is standard across all trims. To get Honda Sensing® on the CR-V you need to pass the base trim!
  • The Toyota RAV4 vs the Mazda CX-5: tech-savvy buyers or lessees should choose the RAV4 over the Mazda CX-5. The RAV4's touchscreen is an inch larger at 8-inches vs 7-inches. You also cannot get a wireless charger or WIFI capabilities on the Mazda CX-5, but you can on the RAV4.
  • The Toyota RAV4 vs the Nissan Rogue: choose the RAV4 Adventure trim and tow up to 3,500 pounds. That's way more than the Rogue's top specs of 1,102 pounds. Also, the RAV4 has backseat passengers in mind with the available rear heated seats; those outback in the Rogue get zero available warmth.

Designers and engineers took the redesign for the 2019 Toyota RAV4 seriously and it shows! Come down to Toyota of Portsmouth for a test drive.
